Our Story
Wild Souls Safaris was founded by local guides who grew up in and around Kenya's most spectacular landscapes. We watched big safari companies grow, watched tourists get shuffled through the same routes, the same lodges, the same experience, and we knew we could do better.
We chose to stay focused, deliberately. We take on a limited number of clients so we can give every trip the attention it deserves. Your safari is designed by the person who will guide you, not handed off to a booking team.
We are based in Diani Beach, Kenya. That's home. And when we take you out into the bush, you're seeing Kenya through the eyes of people who were raised here, who love it here, and who want you to feel what they feel every time they see an elephant at sunset.

Your Guide

Ernest
Founder & Lead Guide
Ernest didn't learn about Kenya from a guidebook. He grew up here, in the landscapes where elephants cross at dusk and lions rest in the shade of acacias — and his path to guiding took him well beyond its borders, through Tanzania and Nairobi before he settled in Diani. He speaks five languages fluently, so he doesn't just show you Kenya: he talks with you in your own.
On safari, he reads the land the way others read a book: with patience, instinct and genuine excitement. He knows where the leopards rest, when the herds move, and which trails lead to the moments you won't forget.
What truly sets him apart is how much he loves sharing it — and off the wheel, you'll find him behind a camera or making music. For Ernest, every safari is a conversation, and the best part of travel isn't what you see: it's who you meet.
Your Coordinator
From the outside, a safari looks effortless. Behind it is Mercy, who runs day-to-day operations from our Diani office — coordinating each trip, booking the lodges, lining up the suppliers, and settling the details long before you land.
Mercy holds a Bachelor of Tourism Management from Maasai Mara University. She is the qualified tourism professional behind our licence with Kenya's Tourism Regulatory Authority — the standard that lets us operate, and the reason our paperwork is handled with the same care as our game drives.

Our Philosophy
We don't show you a packaged version of Kenya. We show you the real thing; the noise, the heat, the silence, the wildness.
We work with local lodges, local restaurants, and local suppliers; partners we trust, in the communities we know best.
WhatsApp us any time. Before the trip, during the trip, after the trip. You'll always reach a real person who knows your safari.
Transparency
We'll be honest: Wild Souls Safaris is a young company. We don't have thousands of reviews. We don't have celebrity endorsements or glossy magazine spreads.
What we have is deep local knowledge, genuine care for our clients, and a commitment to doing things right. Every trip we run is a chance to earn the reputation we're building.
If you're the kind of traveler who values authenticity over polish, who'd rather talk directly to their guide than go through a call center, we think you'll love what we do.
